American Ambulance Service Tunic
This is an original Model 1917 wool American tunic worn by a member of the American Ambulance Service in France. The tunic is contract dated October 1917. The owners initials are located inside the right side of the tunic. At present, these initials have not yet been attributed to a member of an Ambulance Section. The tunic buttons are makers marked to Jewelers Products Corporation of Providence, Rhode Island. The right sleeve contains a very nice Wagoner skill patch, indicating the wearer was a driver in the Ambulance Section. The left sleeve contains a beautiful issue Verdun Rooster patch worn by members of the American Ambulance Service. An honorable discharge chevron and three overseas service chevrons are also attached. |
