Honour Cross of Germany and its allies.
The medal was instituted to commemorate the distinguished deeds of the German people during WWI. The Reichs President Paul Von Hindenberg established the order by decree on July 13, 1934. This was Germany's first official service medal for soldiers of Imperial Germany who participated in the Great War. It was also the first decoration created by the Third Reich. - Ehrenkreuz für Kriegsteilnehmer – for non-combatants
- Ehrenkreuz für Hinterbliebene – for widows & parents of those who died in battle, died as a result of wounds, died in captivity or were missing in action.
